This lovely gite occupies a delightful, rural location offering you peace, quiet and space but at the same time being only ten minutes from all amenities and forty minutes from several wonderful pine-fringed sandy beaches.
The cottage is bright, sunny and airy with high ceilings and exposed beams. Outside there are mature trees and space offering shade and privacy where wanted.
L'Etable is bright, sunny, cheerful and uncluttered accommodation with exposed beams, heating and wood burner for your winter visits, and simple French rural, but very comfortable, furniture.
The gite has a bedroom with 5' double bed and a good sized living room with sofa beds. There is a separate fully fitted kitchen with washing machine and a bathroom with bath and shower. Outside you have your own south facing terrace with garden furniture. The entrance and terrace to l'Etable are completely separate and far away from those of the studio (one of the other properties for let).
Although no pool, there is the river Charente 200m down a grassy track with a small pebble beach for easy access for swimming, canoeing (we have one here you can use) and we have rods available for fishing.
The countryside is ideal for cycling as there is little traffic. There is an abundance of local chateaux and vineyards where they are happy for you to taste their wines, Pineaux and Cognacs. Restaurants and bars abound as do fascinating activities as all the beautiful, sandy beaches (with safe bathing for children) are within 40 mins.
There is a very large garden and adjoining field which is wonderful for children, large or small, to amuse themselves, play, pitch tents etc. or for you to choose a shady (or sunny) nook to sit and contemplate. English/French speaker on site all year round.
Our lovely rural retreat is an ideal spot to sit peacefully watching the wildlife, particularly the birds which can be seen on the marsh during migration. There is much fun to be had watching the nesting storks go about their business from March to August.
