The Charente boasts the highest number of hours of sunshine per annum after the Mediterranean (2000 hours) Summer temperatures reach 95 degrees, it is an unspoiled Poitou Charentes where ancient stone buildings and rolling countryside are predominant.
The house is set in a small hamlet surrounded by sunflowers and grapevines. It has a large garden area and a large orchard. A barbecue and garden furniture are provided for alfresco dining. The interior of the house is large and furnished to a high standard in French style. There is a fully equipped kitchen and laundry room, linen is provided and there are two bathrooms.

A wide screen t.v. with English channels and c.d. player are provided. There are two large lounges complete with wood burning fireplaces and oil fired central and water heating. We try to provide everything you will need for an enjoyable holiday experience.

The town of Barbezieux is a ten minute drive and offers large supermarkets, restaurants, banks and hospital. The town of Jonzac (20 min drive) has a particular excellent indoor/outdoor water theme park well worth a visit.
The city of Cognac (40 min drive) where the aroma of this famous drink prevails in the air. The distilleries offer tours. The vibrant city of Bordeaux (45 mins by car) once the capital of France is a cultural centre for this Poitou Charentes with excellent restaurants. The shopping is modern and sophisticated within a traditional French setting.

The Atlantic beaches are a 60 mins drive and good seafood restaurants are a specialty. The nearby towns have an excellent rail network both local and national. The TGV has a journey time of 2 hours 30 mins to Paris.
Budget flights are available to Angouleme (30 mins drive to house). Bordeaux (45 mins) Limoges, Bergerac and La Rochelle (1.5 hours).
