Our charming cottages, La Forge and La Petite Maison reflect a bygone age but enjoy all modern amenities. Feel at home in our gardens and relax by the large swimming pool. Whenever you come, your resident hosts are ready to ensure your complete enjoyment. The medieval château town of La Rochefoucauld is just 5 minutes away and Angoulême a little further.
Both our cottages, have been modernised to a high standard and are fully equipped, including microwave, washing machine and TV, for inside and outside year-round comfort. Each cottage has its own barbecue and garden furniture. Hot and cold water, electricity and gas, refuse collection, use of our fully maintained swimming pool and gardens are all included in the weekly rates.
La Forge (above) has 2 ground-floor bedrooms; one has a double bed and antique Empire washbasin. The second bedroom is equipped with 2 single beds.
The cottage has a central shower-room with hand-basin and WC. The spacious, wooden beamed sitting/dining room has a wood burning stove and UK satellite colour TV. The fully fitted pine kitchen includes a gas hob, refrigerator, washing machine, microwave and electric oven.
La Forge benefits from full Gas central heating for winter lets.
La Petite Maison (above) has a first floor bedroom with double bed and en suite shower, hand-basin and WC.
The second ground floor double bedroom with original inglenook, has 2 single beds and en suite shower-room with WC. The cosy sitting room has French windows and a UK satellite colour TV. The fully fitted pine kitchen includes an electric oven and gas hob, washing machine, refrigerator and microwave.
Dating from the 18th century, our fully renovated cottages are set in over 3 acres of park and mature gardens on the edge of the village of Agris and the Braconne forest.
Logs, electricity and gas for any room heating are charged extra. There is abundant car-parking and the English owners are in residence throughout your stay to ensure your comfort.
Our little village of Agris is a 2 minute amble down the lane. There, you will find the romanesque church, friendly village shop and post office. La Rochefoucauld and Angoulême both have excellent restaurants from all corners of the globe. Angoulême is home of the famous car race where Fangio made his name. The delights of prehistoric Dordogne, the beaches of Royan and La Rochelle, and the cellars and distilleries of Bordeaux and Cognac are all within easy reach.
Les Chevilloux is easily reached without an overnight stop, by car and ferry or tunnel crossing. In only 8 hours from London, via Lille, the high speed train (TGV) will speed you to Angoulême. For those who wish to fly, Bordeaux, Poitiers and Limoges are all less than 2 hours driving.
On the threshold of the Dordogne, we are well placed for the coast, Futuroscope and all outdoor pursuits.
