Charming rural gite, about 1km from the small village of Ruille Froid Fonds, in the Mayenne. La Ferme is part of a small complex consisting of this gite, the owners house, games room, summer house and swimming pool all set in nearly 2 hectares of lush green countryside.
La Ferme is the original farmhouse and dates to before the French Revolution. It has retained much of its period charm featuring exposed beams, tiled floor downstairs and wood floors upstairs. The ground floor accommodation comprises of large fully equipped kitchen/diner, spacious family lounge, shower room/WC and a bedroom equipped with 2 sets of bunk beds. On the first floor there is a double bedroom a single bedroom and a bathroom/WC. The gite is fully equipped with washing machine, satellite TV, DVD and HiFi.
On site we offer a swimming pool, games room (with pool table, table tennis, table football, darts etc), children's swings and sandpit a good selection of indoor and outdoor games, books and DVDs and plenty of room to run about. The site is also WiFi enabled.
Being in the Pays de la Loire there are numerous chateaux available to visit and a number of outstanding vineyards less than a couple of hours drive away. The historic towns of Le Mans, Rennes, Tours and Angers are all within easy traveling distance and both the Northern and Western coastlines are no more than 2 hours drive away.
The Mayenne river offers some of the best coarse fishing in the country and is one of only 3 in the whole of France to permit night fishing. Golf is taking off in a big way in our region and we are able to offer discounted green fees at the magnificent links course at Sable sur Sarthe. Horse racing and trotting are also very big in our region and almost every town ahs its own race course with regular meetings.
The whole region is awash with things to see and do from the Troglodite caves to animal sanctuaries and Roman baths to a museum devoted to milk there is something for everyone on our doorstep. You will find the people of the Mayenne warm and welcoming and the food simple but superb. Whatever your holiday desires we are sure they will be fulfilled here in the Mayenne.
