La Vue is a recently renovated well-appointed gite, offering comfortable accommodation to holidaymakers, fisher people and house hunters in Tamisac, a hamlet of Champagnac-La-Rivière, Haute-Vienne. Situated just 25 mins drive from Limoges Airport, with regular flights from many UK airports; it is the ideal base for exploring the Limousin and its surrounding areas.
The tranquil setting of this spacious two bedroomed gite with stunning views of the rolling hills offers guests a relaxing break. With both bedrooms having en-suite facilities it is ideal for either a family of four or two couples.
Both bedrooms have en-suite shower facilities:
Bedroom 1 with double bed overlooks the front courtyard.
Bedroom 2 (2 singles) overlooks the garden & wooded countryside.
All towels and bed linen are provided.
La Vue is attached to the barn conversion where the owners live, so guests can be assured that they will be available if required. The gite is situated at the top of a small lane with private car parking area right outside the accomodation.
Entering through French doors to the bright, fully equipped kitchen/diner with a farmhouse table and four chairs. A gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle and toaster along with all cutlery and crockery are supplied.
Two steps lead up from the kitchen to the comfortable, spacious lounge where the log-burner will keep you warm on the winter nights. Furnished with two large sofas, ideal to relax and make use of the TV, DVD and CD players. There is a selection of music and films as well as books to choose from.
French doors from the lounge lead onto a terrace, with table and chairs, that overlooks the large garden leading to those stunning views. The secluded quarter acre garden is fully enclosed, lawned and with young fruit trees. There is a patio/BBQ area overlooking the fields. Fly fishing tuition can be arranged with STANIC qualified instructor.

Rental rates quoted are for two people, please contact the owners for the rates for three or four people.
A 25% non-refundable deposit is usually required to reserve the gite with the balance being paid 6 weeks before your arrival. If time does not permit these arrangements, other arrangements can always be made.
Although changeover is usually Saturday, the owners are aware of cheaper midweek flights and will try to accommodate this.
A complimentary welcome pack along with a bottle of red wine and white wine.
Changeover time is 4pm with departure time 10am, however, depending on bookings the owners can be flexible.
The owners provide a shopping service for a small fee of 4 Euros - just e-mail them your list and they will do their best to have the goods waiting for your arrival.
Local Activities
Tamisac is a small, traditional French hamlet a 15 minute stroll from Champagnac-La-Riviere in the Haute Vienne, where you will find a boulangerie (for that delicious bread), post office and a superb café/bar restaurant.
La Vue is ideally placed to also explore the Correze and Creuse departments as well as the Dordogne - just 20 mins drive. The local towns of Cussac, Chalus and Oradour-sur-Vayres, just 10 mins drive from La Vue, are convenient for supermarkets and other shopping. House hunters will find several reputable estate agencies here too. The towns all boast a number of superb restaurants.
This historic area offers wonderful sightseeing, as well as activity days out, and the gite is equipped with a number of tourist information leaflets to help plan your days out. Listed are just a few to give a taste of the various ways to enjoy your break.
Rochechouart - 20 mins drive to the 15th century chateau, now housing a permanent art exhibition and a collection of 16th century frescoes. The meteorite centre is also here, telling the story of the huge impact that formed this region.
Chalus - less than 10 mins drive to the chateau that boasts it is where Richard the Lionheart was killed by a crossbow.
Limoges - a 40 min drive to the centre, where you can take the ‘petite train' to explore the main sites and monuments.
Perigueux - About an hour drive to this stunning city, with superb shopping and restaurants.
For guests with families there are numerous places to visit. Bussiere-Galant has a 'velo rail', an old rail line with open cars that you can pedal down through beautiful countryside. Also here is the 'Acrobois', walkways through the trees.
The Limoges Aquarium is well worth a visit. The 'Parc du Reynou', just south of Limoges at Le Vigen, is a zoo in a lovely landscaped setting. Kayaking/canoeing and pony trekking all close by and of course the fishing.
