The gîte is composed of one studio and a double bedroom. The double bedroom is around 22m², has a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a hydro-massaging shower (with thermostatic taps), washbasin and toilets. It is possible to add a baby cot or a child bed and the studio, around 35m², has an alcove with bunk beds, a double fold-down bed and a double clic-clac.
The gîte is part of the main house, on the ground floor, but is totally independent. The property is situated in a tiny hamlet of only a few houses, but with a restaurant only 300m away which also sells fresh bread and cigarettes.
The bathroom is fitted with a shower above the bath (again with thermostatic taps), a separate toilet and a kitchenette with electric domino and combined microwave/grill oven, fridge, a washing machine and a dishwasher.
French-doors open onto a wide, secure terrasse with garden table, 6 chairs, parasol and a barbecue, overlooking the lawn and solar heated swimming pool (with removable Abri Suc hard cover). There is also a trampoline with full height side protection nets and a natural wooded park of almost 2ha.
The closest proper village, 3km away, is Damazan, a gorgeous medieval bastide, which has kept all its character, its old arches, the "halle" in the center of the market square and is absolutely charming, yet has not so far been spoilt by excessive tourism. This village of 1300 inhabitants has 4 doctors, a pharmacy, 2 butchers, 2 bakers, a vegetable shop, a newsagent, one small superette, 3 hairdressers, a beautician and one clothes and more shop. All through the summer, every Tuesday, the village organises a local producers summer nocturnal market, ideal place to try all the local specialities, while soaking the unique ambiance, musique and gorgeous wines... One could celebrate every night in a different neighbouring village and travel back 40 years in time...
Within 8km there is a very nice riding school in Villeton, another excellent one 13 km away in Casteljaloux, which is a therms town with a fantastic thermal center with hot springs feeding one indoors and one outdoors pool, also 2 saunas, 2 hammams, one Japanese bath, massage parlors and relaxation lounges... Paradise! In Casteljamoux also there is a large lake around which loads of activities are organised for all ages, including a tree tops circuits in 3 levels, which has never failed to delight all our visitors young and not so young.
Other aquatic paradise to be found in Nérac, birth town of our favourite king Henri IV. Nérac is a really lovely town, well worth a detour. One of the prettiest villages of France, Pujols is also within very easy reach. Lots of adorable hilltop villages and medieval bastides, numerous medieval castles dot the region and organise very typical fêtes every week.
