Our lovely house is located on a large piece of land with oak, cedar, and pine trees and a field of flowers bordering a stream in the southeast corner of the Natural Park of the Luberon Mountain range in the heart of Provence.
The ancient hilltop village of Mirabeau with its famous château is just a mile away. It is strategically located in the Durance River Valley between Aix-en-Provence and Manosque, near the intersection of four departments, the Vaucluse, the Var, the Bouches du Rhone, and the Alpes de Haute Provence.
The grounds are landscaped with flowers, herbs, fruit trees, terraces and swimming pool (with alarm and lights).
There are two adjoining living rooms (over 500 square feet) with two period fireplaces, large screen plasma TV, DVD and surround sound home cinema system. Double glass doors lead to the terraces above the stream. The dining room centers around a custom built teak and bluestone table that comfortably seats eight.
The eat-in kitchen is fully equipped with all new or modern appliances and overlooks the terraces and pool. There is an adjoining laundry room and separate pantry with a freezer and outdoor shower.
All three bedrooms are large, equipped with writing desks, chairs, antique armoires, bedside tables and lamps, double or queen-size mahogany or cherry beds, etc. The entire top floor is a master bedroom suite with large separate bathroom with a huge round tub. The mezzanine has an antique baby grand piano, pull-out double bed, writing desk, shelves and antique walnut armoire.
The covered terrace adjoining the kitchen and steps away from the pool has another teak table with seating for eight. Other tables, lawn and beach chairs and furniture surround the pool area.
High Speed wireless internet available throughout the house, on the terraces and alongside the pool. There is a new glass fireplace insert, new entrance way Provencâle tiled roofs on the South facade. We've resurfaced the entrance and parking area with fine stone and we've cleared the area around the stream for easier access and better views. We are adding a beautiful melez (wood) enclosure to the outdoor shower. There are lots of other little changes....
