La Petite Grange is situated 35km East of Cahors in an elevated position on the limestone causse above the pretty village of St Martin Labouval. Only 4km from the river Lot and a short distance from the Célé Valley. The property is perfectly placed to explore the delights of the Parc Naturel Regional des Causses du Quercy.
This long term let gite is built from local Quercy stone, old oak beams and has a traditional, terracotta tiled floor. The property is built on one level with a spacious covered terrace at the front facing southwards, looking towards the Lot valley and distant wooded hills.
Under the covered terrace there is a table and chairs for outside dining, BBQ and through French windows you enter into the attractive lounge/dining room. This room has a high ceiling, feels spacious and has a large wood burning stove (14kw). There is a very comfortable sofa that can double as a bed settee, 2 leather armchairs and a coffee table. The dining area has an antique pine table that seats 6, large buffet cupboard and well stocked book case. There is also a satellite TV installed for your use.
The 2 double bedrooms lead off either side of this room. One has 2 single beds, the other a double bed and each has a wardrobe, chest of drawers etc & oil filled electric radiator. Both rooms face over the front garden and offer pretty views towards the valley. We also now have a travel cot & high chair should you have a baby.
The kitchen has fitted cupboards, a large stainless steel cooking range with overhead extractor, fridge freezer, washing machine and microwave oven.
The bathroom is roomy with large open shower, WC, washbasin, antique washstand, heated towel rail and electric shaver point.
La Petite Grange has it's own private garden & parking space to the front & behind another garden area. It also shares with our converted barn (Please see our web site link below) more than 2 acres of beautiful gardens, paddock area and in the summer season a 12 x 6m swimming pool.
Although our house is on the same site & we are very happy to offer any help or assistance if needed but please be assured that you will have complete privacy.
This delightful property is situated on a very quiet lane - with only 3 inhabited houses - and after a short, 5 minute walk you arrive at a wonderful, panoramic view of the Chateau of Ceneviere and the river Lot. There is virtually no traffic & it's very peaceful, a wonderful area for walkers.
Equidistant from Cahors, Figeac & Villefranche de Rouergue… in the nearer small town of Cajarc(17 km) you can easily shop for all your essentials.
