Our lovingly renovated stone farmhouse had been abandoned for 40 years before we began our tasteful, traditional renovation project.

Waking up to the sounds of birds, sipping wine on the wisteria covered pergolaed patio, cooking sumptuous suppers on the 1930's wood-burning stove, collecting blackberries from the hedgerows & mushrooms from the woods in Autumn - not simply a dream, it could be your reality!
Our family home on the very edge of a small hamlet at the end of a no-through road, leading to woods & common land is looking for new tenants who enjoy the peace & quiet of rural life, nature & wildlife, gardening & walking or mountain biking.

The spacious & light property, surrounded by garden, includes a newly installed rustic kitchen, shabby chic cupboards & Belfast sink set in a 36m² dining kitchen, with exposed beams & pointed stone wall features. A walk-in larder room & storage area leads to the French doors out to the wisteria & honeysuckle covered patio.
A downstairs bathroom includes a renovated roll-top bath & shower cubicle & exposed stone wall features.

The living room boasts glass doors out to the garden, exposed beams & pointed stone walls. Feature fireplace for wood burning stove.

The converted barn houses a library/sitting room, laundry/ cloak room & stairs up to mezzanine office area, in turn leading to the bedrooms, bathroom, in-built storage cupboards & Wc with corner hand basin.
Three bedrooms have dorma windows, exposed timbers & stone walls. The fourth is a low head height as it was the original hayloft & is an ideal guest room with built-in wall cupboards stretching the length of the room. The main bedroom has views to both South & North, exposed stone wall feature & because of it's size & height feels very special. The upstairs bathroom includes a full size bath, shelving for baskets & exposed beams.
The house has been re-roofed & insulated throughout, embedded new electrics, double glazing & insulation between walls & floors. The renovation work is to a high standard & it is full of character.
The garden of 5,000m² is divided in to areas, a new orchard having been planted 4 years ago. Gravel paths, established & establishing trees & shrubs, small kitchen garden & herbs, pond area with running water from the near by lavoire.
Set back from the house is an independent stone built cave with vaulted ceiling & electricity & an old stone pig house sits proudly out on the front drive, where there is ample parking. A garage is divided into workshop space and storage.
The family-like village infant & junior school is ideal for young children & there is a daily transport service from outside the front gate. The hamlet is serviced by a number of boulangers & grocery vans although all other services & supermarkets are only a 10-15 minute drive away.
The city of Clermont Ferrand is a one hours drive away, as is Montluçon. The ski resort of Mont Dore in the Massif Central is only 1 hours drive & is an ideal family-friendly resort.
For keen fishermen, the house is only 3km from two well-maintained fishing lakes. There are plenty of local associations in the area organising sporting & cultural activites. There is always something to do for those who like to be busy! Available to rent furnished or non-furnished to keen gardeners.
