Marseillan in the Herault department of the
Langeudoc-Rousillion region of France.
Marseillan is a hugely active village-port with many fine restaurants, excellent round the year community activities, a long 'season',schools, theatre, shops, trades and professions.
Adjacent to the A9, A61 and A75 motorways as well as the TGV and the very effective railway network, Marseillan is well situated however one wants to travel and there are also local buses to nearby towns.
Blessed with an enormous coastline (250km) and nearly 30 seaside resorts and ports along the Mediterranean, Marseillan has it's own 'micro-climate' within Riveria style weather but without the costs or the traffic.
Water-sports are multitudinous and include water-skiing, swimming, scuba-diving, sailing, fishing and even kayaking on the rivers and gorges. Tennis, gymnasiums, golf (20 courses), para-gliding, horse-riding cycling, walking, bridge clubs (nearly every town has at least one), dancing, football and rugby, theatre, cinemas and bookshops in English, are all widely available.
