The house is in the heart of the old town, probably about 400 years old, but restored in 2004. Fully equipped kitchens with modern appliances, new Smeg ovens, new fridges and microwaves. Tastefully furnished with all new furniture, but still maintaining a truly "French" feel to the house. You can be assured that all furniture is in as new condition and is nice and clean.

Included is the ground floor studio apartment (sleeps 2), with a fitted kitchen area, tv/dvd, toilet and shower and is ideal for the teenagers or parents in your group. The middle floor has a good sized shower/w.c, two double bedrooms, both with shutters, french windows and small balconies to the front of the house. Each bedroom has a double bed, kingsize duvets, dressing table, hairdryer ,bedside tables and drawers.

The top floor is a truly spacious, open plan living area with high a ceiling extending into the roof. There is a fitted kitchen along the wide back wall, a dining area for six people (more can be accommodated), a lounge area with two large Futon Co. sofas, two wicker arm chairs, TV, DVD, CD/RADIO. The Futons can be easliy converted if guests decide to stay over. This top floor room is a real all year round room with two french windows opening out onto a south facing, full length balcony, it has day long sunshine.

The town of Marseillan is a great, picturesque little town on the banks of a coastal lake called the Etang de Thau. Its prosperity evolved from the production of mussels, oysters and of course, wine. With the opening of the canal de midi nearby, the small port became an important stop off before heading off to sea. The town also is the birthplace of the oddly named Noilly Prat, Frances' own 'Martini- vermouth' where you can do the tour.

These days Marseillan is a quite a sleepy place, the locals are friendly, they are well used to the holiday trade. The restuarants are great and not overpriced, boulangeries abound for the breakfast trip and there is a small Spar shop for the extras. Weekly market, and a couple of festivals each year. There is the fantastic port, where you will probably spend most of your evenings at one of the restuarants that line the quayside. A recently opened internet shop/cafe now means that you keep in contact with your emails or great for searching out any info that you may need whilst on holiday.
